John Coish was ordained an Elder for the Church of God International in 1997.  He has been the local Pastor for many churches along the way and is still the local Pastor for CGI Kitchener and London.  In addition, he has been the President or Vice-President of the Church of God International Canadian Office for 16 years.

Mr. Coish has worked for the Kitchener Fire Department for over 24 years in various capacities, the last seven as the Public Fire and Life Safety Educator.  He is certified in many areas with respect to his profession.  On his own he also chose to become a Competent Toastmaster to help in his profession and within the Church.  One of his favourite activities is acting as a youth mentor in an area of the City where many children don’t have two parents.

John lives with his best friend and wife, Myrna, and their three children: Benjamin, Zachary, and Kaitlin.  His greatest job as he sees it is in raising his children (young adults) so that they become mature responsible Christians. Teaching them enough that they never doubt the Word of God.

Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, …  that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one” (Colossians 4:2-6).
