God’s annual Sabbath of the Feast of Firstfruits or more popularly known as the Day of Pentecost, has just ended. The Church of God now turns its attention to another annual Sabbath, the Feast of Trumpets, which will be on September 10, this year.

As with all of God’s seven annual Sabbaths found in Lev. 23, which the traditional Christian churches have largely ignored and have instead embraced pagan-rooted festivals such as Christmas and Easter, these holy days carry very important meanings in the whole plan of God for humanity. The Feast of Trumpets has one vital message for the entire universe – The Christ is Coming!

The mere mention of the word ‘trumpets,’ gives the signal that this festival is about the return of Jesus Christ. For example, 1 Thess. 4: 15, “ For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

The return of Jesus Christ is the hope for humanity. The Christ came on a mission, which he accomplished. He uttered just before He died, “it is finished.”

While our societies pay attention to the material world and to ungodly pursuits, the clock is ticking away by the seconds. An unsuspecting populace is truly going to fulfill scripture when the Bible tells us Christ is coming “like a thief in the night.” Many have rejected Him as the Only True and Living God, or that He does not exist or returning for that matter, yet Christians know and believe that absolutely nothing can stop the return of the Christ.

Are your prepared to meet the Glorious and Almighty One? Are you among the many He is calling today to surrender your life and accept Christ as LORD and Saviour of all humanity? Think about it!  Jesus Christ is coming and nothing can stop Him. If you have a desire to get to know and surrender to Him, what could be so important to stop you for not wanting to respond to that call?

We are living in dangerous times. Each day or week passes by we hear of occurrences that fit perfectly into what the Holy Word of God has been telling us all along. Can we open our eyes and see what is happening around us? Do we really believe this sin-sick society will continue on this path of destruction where what was once regarded as evil has now become good and what was once good has now become evil. It’s as if our societies are in a tail spin, no longer knowing good from evil or having any fear or respect for the Divine.

God’s true followers are now looking forward to the Feast of Trumpets because it pictures a time when our joy and hope will be fulfilled – the return of Jesus, the Christ! For more on this subject, please download FREE our booklet, WHY CHRIST MUST RETURN!
